You can see the origins of games in the rumpus-like behavior of kittens and puppies. Our instincts as mammals push us to learn survival skills through roughhousing, chasing, and discovery. Now that we seldom need to evade predators or kill our food, games serve primarily as entertainment, with varying degrees of educational and social aspects. How has the balance between those three elements of gaming changed through the industrial and digital ages? What predictions can we make for the next 50 years
